Three.js and 3D web: questions
What is Three.js used for on a website?
Three.js draws real-time 3D in the browser with WebGL. Brands use it for product viewers customers can rotate, configurators, animated hero scenes and interactive storytelling, without plugins or app downloads.
Will a 3D website be slow on phones?
Not if it is built with a budget. We keep geometry and textures light, load the 3D scene after the page content, pause it when it is off screen and ship an image fallback for older devices.
Can you add a 3D product viewer to Shopify?
Yes. A Three.js viewer or configurator can sit on a Shopify storefront or a custom store. The Atomic Muscles store we built uses 3D product scenes with Shopify checkout.
